Andrey Andreyevich Guryev

President of the Russian Fertilizer Producers Association, member of the Bureau of the Board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs

He graduated from the University of Greenwich (London) with a bachelor’s degree in economics and from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. He has a PhD in economics (Saint Petersburg Mining University).

From 2013 to 2022, he was the CEO of PhosAgro, the largest Russian holding specialising in the production of phosphate-based fertilizers; he began working for the Company in 2004.

Under Mr Guryev’s leadership, PhosAgro established a long-term development strategy that enabled it to become Russia’s flagship company in the mineral and chemical industry.

Mr Guryev heads the Russia–Argentina and Russia–Brazil Business Councils, in addition to being a member of the Board of Directors of the International Fertilizer Association.

He has served as co-chairman of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs’ Coordination Council to Combat Coronavirus since its inception, and in October 2020 he headed the Council.

The World Economic Forum recognised Mr. Guryev as a 2021 Young Global Leader for his significant contribution to sustainability and for his coordination of the fight against the pandemic at the level of the Russian and global business communities.

He was awarded the Medal of the Order for Merit to the Fatherland (second degree), the Order of Pirogov for his major contribution to organising medical care and preventing the spread of COVID-19, as well as the Order of Friendship in recognition of his efforts to carry out socially significant projects and his active community service.
