Acron awarded grants to the best chemistry, physics, and maths teachers in Veliky Novgorod as part of a programme called Achieving Success in Education and Career with Acron. This was the seventh time the Company has funded the grants in partnership with the Veliky Novgorod education committee.
This year, the award worth RUB 1,020,000 was shared by eight teachers.
The jury named Valentina Ivanova from School 2 the best chemistry teacher and Anastasia Yakunicheva from School 36 the second best chemistry teacher. The top physics teachers were Tatiana Konstantinova from School 13, Svetlana Kuzmich from Istok Gymnasium and Elena Pavlova from Kvant Gymnasium. Tatiana Mishina from Gymnasium 2 and Elena Uvarova from Gymnasium 4 were chosen as the best maths teachers.
Marina Vorobieva, Chair of the Veliky Novgorod education committee, thanked Acron for its long-standing and substantial support of the city’s education system and expressed the hope that this co-operation would continue.
The Achieving Success in Education and Career with Acron grant programme was established in 2017 to encourage teachers to motivate students to go deeper into subjects that are in demand at Acron. Winners can spend 50% of their award on personal needs, 30% on classroom infrastructure, equipment and materials, and 20% on professional development. Over the past seven years, more than 50 teachers in Veliky Novgorod have received grants totalling nearly RUB 6 million.
