EuroChem Improves AI Deployment Management

Developing digital solutions and deploying artificial intelligence are among EuroChem's strategic priorities. As part of this ongoing effort, the company held an internal strategic workshop for senior management focused on advancing and scaling AI and generative AI (GenAI) technologies across operations and corporate functions. The event brought together heads of key business lines and corporate functions to discuss practical use cases and map out the next steps in the company's further AI development.

EuroChem has been systematically pursuing projects in data analytics, machine learning, and business process automation, while also investing in employee skills development. Regular training and team engagement enable the company to roll out new tools effectively across both operational and management activities.

Workshop participants reviewed global trends in AI and GenAI adoption across various industries and business functions. Deputy Director for Digitalisation Valery Cherepanov presented an overview of how artificial intelligence is reshaping corporate management models and the approaches taken by international companies.

"Generative AI has become a powerful driver of change — effectively giving new momentum to the rethinking of business processes. EuroChem's facilities already make extensive use of machine learning solutions, and the scaling of generative technologies is well underway. The next stage is the development of what is known as agentic AI: systems capable not only of analysing data, but of independently executing tasks and making decisions within defined processes. It is already clear that a significant share of routine work will, within the next five to seven years, be handled by AI agents taking over parts of management and operational functions. Companies will accordingly need to learn to manage not just teams of people, but entire ecosystems of virtual agents — developing them, deploying them, and overseeing their work," said Valery Cherepanov.

The workshop continued with presentations of EuroChem's internal use cases, including digital production pipeline projects at the company's facilities. These solutions are designed to improve manufacturing efficiency through data analytics, recommendation systems, and optimisation algorithms.

A dedicated session covered AI applications in corporate functions. Projects currently underway include accounts receivable management systems, an AI chatbot serving as a consultant on procurement regulations and request status — built on the company's corporate knowledge base and large language models (LLMs) — and specialised chatbots for legal departments.

AI deployment at EuroChem is already delivering measurable economic impact across a number of operational processes. The most notable results are being seen in process control, optimisation of production chain elements, and improvements to corporate functions — including inventory management, shift scheduling, and the automation of selected business processes.

The potential for scaling these solutions remains substantial — both by rolling out proven technologies to other Group facilities and by introducing new analytical tools at the strategic management level.

The workshop concluded with the team agreeing on next steps for advancing EuroChem's AI deployment programmes, including the launch of new pilot projects and the expansion of existing solutions.

To date, EuroChem has completed more than 60 AI-powered projects, generating significant economic impact. A further 50 or so initiatives are being developed, with around 80% of the company's digital projects incorporating AI in some form.
