NWPC Upgrades Water Supply System

20.03.2023 | News

North-Western Phosphorous Company, a member of Acron Group, is implementing a large-scale project to build a new floating pumping station, recycling water supply and mine water treatment facilities as part of the second stage of the Oleniy Ruchey mine construction. Upon its completion, the Company will fully meet its water supply needs.

The pumping station is a floating pontoon with an anchoring system 18 metres long and 14 metres wide. It will be equipped with three 1,000 m3/h D-type rotor pumps and a new 2,500-metre long D600 penstock. It will be powered using NWPC’s integrated switchgear.
A floating pumping station is cheaper to construct than a stationary one and helps to deal with water level fluctuations providing best water intake conditions.
The commissioning is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.
