PhosAgro’s Phosphoric Acid Production Surpasses 3 Million Tonnes for First Time in History

PhosAgro’s phosphoric acid production surpasses 3 million tonnes for the first time in history, announced the CEO, Mikhail Rybnikov, at a meeting on the Company’s production and business operations.

In the first 11 months of 2023, PhosAgro produced 3.063 million tonnes of phosphoric acid, the main feedstock for the production of phosphate-based agrochemicals, a 5.3% increase year-on-year.

Sulphuric acid production increased by nearly 3% over the same period, thanks to measures to increase the self-sufficiency of production sites. Output of mineral fertilizers as well as of feed and technical-grade phosphates increased by 2.2% year-on-year.

PhosAgro’s CEO said: “We have been carrying out large-scale repairs at our phosphoric and sulphuric acid plants in the fourth quarter; at the same time, we have continued increasing our production of raw materials and agrochemical products.

“We plan to further expand our agrochemical production by 1.4 million tonnes in 2026 compared with our expected 2023 output. We are going to make this possible by developing our phosphoric and sulphuric acid production facilities, increasing their output by 7% in 2026 compared with 2023.”
